About Me

My photo
"I was a little girl, alone in my little world, who dreamed of a little home for me. I played pretend between the trees, and fed my houseguests bark and leaves, and laughed in the pretty bed of green. I had a Dream That I could fly from the highest SWING, I had a Dream." lyrics by Priscilla Ahn

mOve On …

The flirty wind gushed past me
I heard she say, “Psst! follow me!”
I paused for a moment and looked around
To find the crowd moving face down
All were lost in their own world
Then why not me, like a free bird!
I winked, and grinned and made a giggle
And spread my wings to do a wiggle
I felt so good.. Its real fun
Behind the wind, to make a run!
But I was running, not like you
Why can’t I fly, just like you?!
Hey, break your ties, crack the wall
Feel free and light, like a leaf in Fall!
I took heed to the advice
I shook my body bound with ties
I shed my fears, I wiped my tears
I flew past all the cunning snares
I looked down upon the mountain ranges
The sea, the trees, and the hue changes
The fragrance of flowers in the farm land
And the light rose lilies on the right hand
I flew down like a butterfly and danced around
I felt myself a flower in the crowd
Fluttering past the rainy hills,
I slided down the rainbow frills
Up the bridge, where lovers meet
Down the forests where foxes fleet
I saw the smiles, the cries, the kills
The sins, the trust, the cheating drills
The wind said, hey,  never stop thou
Move on with a little bow
Never get stranded in pathos or joy
Of yours or others or any little boy
Life goes on and on and on
Fly and fly through the breaking dawn!
– Sindhu

Those days!

If I was given a boon to undo
What would I do?

I undo the days lived in pain?
Oh no, they gave me the gains!

I undo the days of fears?
Oh no, they pushed me to top gear!

I undo the days of illness, cough and cold?
Oh no, through them the love of my mother was told!

I undo the days of reading, writing and learning?
Oh no, through them my father taught me yearning!

I undo the days of quarrels, fight and tears?
Oh no, through them, I, with my sister and friends, adhere!

I undo the days of love in my life?
Oh never, it’s the life of my life!

Nothing I undo,
Fut hold to heart everything, I do!

Unveiled

(Inspired by the photograph, Arab Spring.

Arab Spring

My eyes are screened...
But I see,
I see much more than you do.

My ears are clogged up...
But I hear,
I listen to that which you don't.

My hands are gloved...
But I hold,
I hold that which you won't.

I'm swathed in black...
But I reflect,
I reflect more than you do.

I'm veiled,
But prevail!

Flowers leave some of their fragrance in the hand that bestows them...

“What if you slept? And what if, in your sleep, you went to heaven and there plucked a
strange and beautiful flower? And what if,when you awoke, you had the flower in your hand?
Ah, what then?”
― Samuel Taylor Coleridge
